Today we had our first pass at sound design with a (we're not allowed to name him yet) world famous (Oscar-winning) supervisor. He's giving us some tips and tricks and then we'll have our pass in Final Cut and with our temp foley. He's mentoring us and it's jaw-dropping that he even has the time. Sometimes the Hollywood machine works in your favor. Sometimes it doesn't. Our favorite part at the moment is picking out the perfect thunder rumbles. You all have NO idea how much goes into making a movie sound like it does.

Faces from the glass
Sometimes you don't get to sleep when you're under the wire. Sometimes you don't know if the faces you see in the window are in your imagination or if they are your buddies wondering if you'll ever finish this latest cut. They must be real. They come bearing pizza.

Salmon Sushi & Walrus Runs
Here in Alaska the Salmon is fantastic! Our travel crew has found a great local hangout where the Japanese sushi is amazing and the salmon is so fresh it melts in your mouth. There's also a wonderful ice cream restaurant called the Walrus Runs. It reminds us so much of our film's tasty frozen treats - we're wondering if they stole the idea from us - or if we stole it from them!
Audience Favorite
Dear Lilac Lemur was chosen as the audience favorite at the Alaskan Olympic Film Festival. The cards reported that everybody's favorite part of the movie was the high jump antics. We're considering holding our own contests in your town.
